#30| All the best, Wifey

"Bhai doesn't like sweets," Anita whispered only for me to hear, and suddenly my mood fell. I was feeling a sudden turmoil of emotions seeping out of me, sure that there was a visible scowl on my face as frustration was bubbling out of me at the knowledge.

"Wow Beta Adhvi, You are a great cook." Dada ji said with a smile breaking me out of my trail of thoughts as I smiled at him but I could feel my lips quivering. "Yes Beta, it's sweet and perfect." Papa's complement made me want to look at him and I gave him a small nod and a smile. Everyone gave their blessings and praise about the dessert but what I wanted was I didn't get. Rajveer was seated quietly at his place feeding Rehan who jumped on his lap a few moments ago. Feeling the bitter taste on my tongue, I ate a spoonful of kheer but the taste worsened.

"Rajveer, Won't you taste kheer?" Dadi directed her gaze towards my husband who was now looking at her without any expression lingering on his face. He looks like a damn stone statue and it's kind of weird for me. Rajveer gave a nod, instantly my mood lifted as if the switch was flipped on and I was screaming internally that finally this man was about to taste and I was waiting for his reaction.

Seeing Rajveer nod, Maa was about to serve him as the maid was away but before Maa could serve him, he took my bowl and started eating and everyone's eyes widened including me at his actions. "It's delicious." He said after he was finished eating while Rehan was eating his own kheer sitting on his lap. "Yes Dad, it's decisis." Rehan agreed with his dad and continued eating.(Delicious)

Everyone looked at them as if they saw ghosts including me and my skin was heating up as if I was boiling in the hot water. "Ab toh delicious lgega hi," Anita muttered under her breath which I unfortunately heard, I could feel my ears heating from blush. (It would feel delicious definitely)

"Bhabhi, are you blushing?" Anita spoke way too loudly for everyone to hear and suddenly I want myself to be invisible or dig up the earth and keep myself hidden because now everyone is staring at me Maa glared at Anita to shut up and I'm thankful to her but the man beside me is quiet in his own world who doesn't know what the fuck is going on around him. Feeling him too quiet I looked at him who was looking at Rehan in his lap, his lips twitching and my gaze went towards his slight red ears. This man blushed. This man fucking Blushed.

I kicked his leg from under the table and he side-eyed me but his composure was still the name not even affected a little bit. I bit my lips to stifle my laugh and he side glared at me. But my Baby Rehan has some other plans 'cause this little man solely dropped a blush bomb right in front of the whole family. "Mama, Why are you kicking Dad?"

Again the attention was on us and unexpectedly my tongue was bound and I couldn't defend myself and I was too embarrassed. I want to fucking die right now after this encounter. Oh God! Why me of all? "We're getting late for the office and Mom, Adhvika is also working in our office so she will come with us." Rajveer broke the heavy silence in the room and I sighed being relieved from what had happened.

"Okay, beta, and All the best Adhvi Beta." Dada ji said with a thumbs-up and I smiled while tears threatened to spill. "We're proud of you." Chacha ji spoke for the first time and he is a serene person for sure. "I'm more proud of her. Of course, I have a good eye for picking Daughters-in-law." Dadi spoke and everyone chuckled at her words, she is such a sweetheart after all. Everyone wished me best and then the maid came to pick the dishes from the table. Everyone gathered in the hall where there were sofas.

"Let's give Adhvika her gift," Chachi said with excitement and Dadi nodded, bringing a square box wrapped beautifully with pink ribbons and she gave it to me as a gift for completing the ritual successfully. I accepted the box and took her blessing along with everyone present, they gave their blessings filled with love and care for me. Maa and Chachi hugged me, encouraging me for my first day in the office.

"I'm going to change for office, you want to change Bhabhi?" Anita asked me when we were reaching upstairs and I thought I should change because there is no way I can run in Saree as I do not wear Sarees often but I love them so much, the traditional clothes give me a feel which is so good and entirely different.

So I nodded and she told me she had a suit which wasn't her fit 'cause of her curves and short figure and told me it would fit me perfectly. She isn't chubby but has the body of a model which every woman wishes to have including me. I watched as Rehan and Rajveer sat in the hall waiting for us to come soon. I rushed towards our room, placed the nicely wrapped box in one of the drawers of the wardrobe, and Without wasting a minute, I changed into the business suit it fit me perfectly and I wore the same heels that I wore earlier this morning. Leaving my hair open, I was ready to go and I saw the time it took me barely seven minutes to get ready.

I took my phone and looked at the notifications from Maa asking me If I was good and I typed back telling her how much they cared and loved me plus I notified her that I would be visiting her today. There was then Anvi who was relieved after seeing my message and told me she would meet me tonight in the Moonstone club. Sighing, I placed my phone back in my pocket and took my purse which matched the outfit and my laptop fit in it perfectly.

After I was done with the messages and the outfit, I descended downstairs to see Anita wasn't there and there was only Rajveer who was working on his laptop, glasses placed on his nose and he was focused on the screen I didn't know he wore glasses, the rimless glasses looked hot on him. On the other side, Rehan was beside him looking at his alphabet book reading from it. As I approached them they turned their head towards me and Rehan let out a howl his face was comical while on the other hand, Rajveer's figure was frozen like a statue and he gulped visibly before continuing to do his work.

"Woah!" A long 'woah' broke my trance and I looked beside me to find Anita wearing the same expression as Rehan's she was wearing a neat shirt and a pleated knee-length skirt along with stockings and heeled boots. "You look Great," I told her and her grin widened.

"Let's go bhai we are ready." She chirped and motioned me to follow her, I followed her to the front lawn where Maa, Chachi, and Dadi were sitting on the ivory chairs under a tree. They looked at us grinning and waving as Rehan and Rajveer came hand in hand but the gents were nowhere to be seen. The car was already waiting for us but there was no driver and I am sure Rajveer doesn't like to take a driver when it concerns a family.

"I want to sit with Bua." Rehan chirped happily and climbed beside Anita while My husband opened the door for me as I sat in the passenger seat. Rounding the car, he slipped on the driver's side, turned on the ignition and the next is we dropped off Rehan at school. Everyone remained silent until we reached Rehan's school, kissed his cheeks, and waved to him because as Rajveer stated we can't go to the office late because we have a meeting and Anita works for him not as his family member but as a normal intern because her family wants her to gain her position according to her skills and expertise. In my opinion, that's something new to me and now I know the reason why Rajveer is super fine in his work.

Besides I am not working in this company as Rajveer's wife and now I want to be competitive and earn my title as well as my position from a department head to Managing Director. My online job was as an assistant project head and I provided with troubleshooting problems and risk management on behalf of the Project Manager but now that I can work physically here I want to work as a Department head and get a promotion to Managing Director. Hardworking is a fun game for me because the fruit is sweet and earned by me and not by my title.

Now cherry on top Our marriage is a secret between our families so I'll be working as Miss Adhvika Sharma. Yeah, I was back to my self-name again after my husband's demise and when my mother-in-law and father-in-law both got depressed some situations changed back then leading to a change in me because I want to give Rehan the best I can. I want my child to grow under care and love which is the reason I started working from home in this company run by Rathore's.

Bigmart was started by his grandfather and provides packed food varieties and other packed groceries next they are stepping towards being the largest catering services to a wide range of hotels and restaurants but the journey is hard and with struggle. They might have to do the division of the company in two. "Bhabhi, come on. where are you lost?" Anita's soft voice brought me to the private parking area and I looked around only to find this area empty but only a few guards who stood like statues. I sighed and opened the door when it slammed shut with a force that I nearly fell into the driver's seat. I looked up to find Rajveer standing there in front of me while his one hand was on the door keeping it open. Anita giggled from beside him and he glared at her which she returned with sticking her tongue out like a kid.

I stepped on the paver tiles and looked around the beautiful area with lush green plants around, there's a plate hanging on the above gate saying it's private parking. The space here isn't much but enough to park at least ten cars. In front of us, there is a huge building with a sign saying BIGMART in red and green letters.

"Okay, so I'm leaving for my work while you two lovey-dovey couple share a parting kiss. Aha, it sounds so good, so romantic." Anita's comment made me blush as she said the last line with dreamy eyes before hopping happily towards the building which means only I and Rajveer are left behind. I peeked at him to find him typing fiercely on his phone but his expressions remained neutral. As if sensing my gaze on him he looked up at me, I smiled at him and his gaze softened.

"Shall we go, sir?" I quirked my brow in question, and his lips twitched, but he didn't smile. "Yes, Madam." Saying this he turned around while I followed him. "Won't you give me all the best?" I said when we reached the private elevator and stepped inside, now in a closed space. He stood beside me, hands in the pockets of his pants, and looked at me with a curious gaze. "All the Best, Mrs. Adhvika Rajveer Singh Rathore." He said teasingly and I almost blushed. Keyword Almost.

"Thank you, Mr. Rajveer, but you know we can't disclose ourselves to the public, right?" I raised a brow and pouted, and his gaze flicked on my lips before meeting my eyes. "Yeah, wifey. I know." His tone is amused. I gave a nod before saying, "Good boy." Just to tease him and his eyes darkened a bit before he rolled his eyes sighing making me chuckle. He let out a hoarse laugh which is the best music to my ears.

The elevator halted on the twenty-fifth floor and the doors opened. "Your office is there, wifey beside Mr. Verma's." My husband said handing me my ID card which I took. I stood on my tiptoes and smacked a quick kiss on his left cheek before stepping out of the elevator. I don't know what came to my mind and I did so but did I regret it? Nah and Nah.

I looked behind to find the doors closed and I sighed before moving towards the corridor on the right where I could see people working. I am working as an assistant manager for two months as Mr. Verma is going to resign because he is moving to LA with his wife and newborn kid. So I am going to learn from him. No one knows who I was years ago because I never went to public events with my husband and I think I'm quite thankful for that but the pain stings like fresh wounds have been made.

I've never thought that I would be standing here being another person. It just hurts a lot. I mean a lot.
